This role has direct supervisory responsibility for hospital operations staff and possesses a strong working knowledge of hospital operations. The coordinator is adept at leading initiatives and teams focused on achieving operational excellence and is an integral member of the leadership team. The focus is on the overall management of strategic priorities across work areas, specializing in accelerating performance and optimizing patient transfer/placement operations. Responsibilities include planning, implementation, evaluation, and optimization of strategic hospital optimization initiatives, identifying training needs, and partnering with leadership to find solutions. The role involves coaching and mentoring staff, developing high-performing employees through training and succession planning, and ensuring timely communication to stakeholders. Accountability extends to educating and training staff to effectively manage key performance metrics and developing/implementing workflow solutions to optimize hospital operations. Collaboration with multi-disciplinary leaders and work groups is essential for developing, coordinating, and evaluating the implementation of short and long-range plans for standardization and process improvement. The coordinator facilitates project management, utilizes strategic planning methodologies, and leads multi-disciplinary teams. Developing policies and procedures, and partnering with the management team to ensure communication, education, and compliance are key. The role requires solving complex problems involving physicians, nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members, while ensuring standard operating procedures are developed, implemented, and followed. Business requirements for reports and systems are developed, and strong technical aptitude and functional knowledge of the work being performed within a work area are necessary. Proactive management of strategic relationships through collaboration with leadership, administrators, nursing, consulting staff, front-line staff, and other hospital operations colleagues is expected.
