About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join the team at Ascension Via Christi St. Teresa in Wichita, Kansas. This per-diem, as-needed role works in a high-volume, production-based environment and performs an important component of clinical laboratory science. The position involves receiving and preparing specimens, recording specimen and patient information, maintaining equipment and supplies, and following procedures that support safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Basic computer knowledge and data-entry skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turnaround times.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of medical, laboratory, or production experience in a hospital laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical laboratory specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or enter specimen and patient information.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.
