About The Position

Xanitos is hiring full-time and part-time Hospital Housekeepers for its Environmental Services team at UMH Sparrow in Lansing, Michigan. Housekeepers may work in any location on the client’s premises and are responsible for cleaning and maintaining orderly facilities across a health care campus. Responsibilities may vary by account based on business needs, client requirements, and applicable industry standards. The available shifts are 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m., and 11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.; the role includes weekends and holidays. Pay is $14.84 per hour. The position requires standing and walking for extended periods, frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds, and performing tasks such as reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals requiring special clothing or safety equipment, and occasionally moving mechanical parts. The usual noise level is quiet. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent, required.
• Post-offer medical screening, background screening, and drug test required.
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to meet the described physical demands, including standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the janitorial industry is a plus.
• Medical cleaning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Sweep and/or vacuum floors.
• Dust furniture and equipment.
• Polish metalwork.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.
• Replenish bathroom supplies.
• Transport small equipment or tools between departments.
• Keep facilities or locations on a health care campus clean and orderly.
