About The Position

Xanitos, Inc. is hiring Environmental Service Hospital Housekeepers for all shifts at UPMC Altoona in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The role involves cleaning and maintaining an orderly condition in facilities and locations across a health care campus. Responsibilities may vary by account based on business needs, client requirements, and applicable industry standards. The position pays $15.00 per hour, with shifts listed as first shift (6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), second shift (2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m.), and third shift (10:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.). The employee may work in any location on client premises and performs a range of cleaning and housekeeping tasks. The work requires prolonged standing and regular physical activity, including frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds. Employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. Possible exposure to chemicals may require special clothing or safety equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent, required.
Post-offer medical screening, background screening, and drug test required.
Flu vaccine required.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods and frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the janitorial industry is a plus.
Medical cleaning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Sweep and/or vacuum floors.
Dust furniture and equipment.
Polish metalwork.
Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
Replenish bathroom supplies.
Transport small equipment or tools between departments.
Keep facilities or locations on a health care campus clean and orderly.
