About The Position

The Hospital Greeter is responsible for warmly greeting and acknowledging all patients, visitors, and guests entering the hospital, providing courteous, professional, and compassionate customer service. This role assists individuals in navigating the hospital, directing them to the appropriate department or service, and answering basic questions. The Greeter also maintains a clean and welcoming appearance in the entryway and lobby areas, monitors for housekeeping needs, and ensures a welcoming atmosphere while being attentive to those needing assistance. They are responsible for escalating concerns to supervisors, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and acknowledge all patients, visitors, and guests entering the hospital.
  • Provide courteous, professional, and compassionate customer service.
  • Assist patients and visitors in navigating the hospital and direct them to the appropriate department, clinic, registration area, or service.
  • Answer basic questions and provide general information about hospital locations and services.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming appearance in the main entryway, lobby, and designated waiting areas.
  • Clean and disinfect designated high-touch surfaces at least every two hours and more frequently as needed, following hospital infection-prevention and cleaning procedures.
  • Monitor entry and waiting areas throughout the shift and address minor housekeeping needs as appropriate.
  • Turn on and monitor the lobby fireplace during designated winter months, following hospital safety procedures and established guidelines.
  • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors while being attentive to individuals who may need additional assistance.
  • Escalate patient, visitor, facility, safety, security, or other concerns to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
  • Notify the supervisor of spills, hazards, maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or other conditions that may create a safety risk.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect patient privacy in accordance with hospital policies and applicable requirements.
  • Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including infection prevention, safety, emergency response, and customer-service standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department leadership.
