About The Position

Reporting to the Billing Manager, the Hospital Billing Specialist is responsible for supporting the billing process for assigned surgical hospital facilities. This role includes executing billing workflows, generating and transmitting claims, resolving claim rejections, and assisting with billing-related inquiries to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. The Hospital Billing Specialist works closely with internal teams and facility partners to support efficient billing operations and maintain compliance with payer guidelines and billing standards.

Requirements

• Experience in healthcare billing
• Knowledge of billing workflows
• Ability to generate and transmit claims
• Skill in resolving claim rejections
• Experience with internal and external inquiries
• Familiarity with operative notes, POPM forms, invoices, and implant pricing
• Experience with revenue reconciliation
• Proficiency in billing review and claim submission
• Understanding of electronic claims clearinghouses
• Knowledge of payer requirements and internal procedures
• Awareness of healthcare billing laws, rules, and regulations

Responsibilities

• Execute recurring billing workflows and generate and transmit claims daily.
• Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of internal and external inquiries related to billing issues, including operative notes, POPM forms, invoices, and implant pricing.
• Reconcile revenue and billing activities during the period-end close process.
• Complete accurate billing review and submit claims to the designated electronic claims clearinghouse.
• Resolve claim rejections daily to ensure clean claims are transmitted and successfully received by the appropriate payer.
• Monitor billing activity to ensure compliance with billing policies, payer requirements, and internal procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of healthcare billing laws, rules, regulations, and industry developments.
