About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Hospital Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and collaborating with insurance companies and patients to resolve billing issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in medical billing preferred.
• Proven experience as a medical or hospital billing specialist.
• Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong understanding of insurance policies, billing codes (CPT, ICD-10), and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and government agencies.
• Review patient billing information for accuracy and completeness.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and work to resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations, insurance policies, and coding standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure proper documentation and billing compliance.
• Generate billing reports and assist with audits as needed.
