About The Position

Universal Health Services (UHS), a Fortune 300 corporation and a leading provider of hospital and healthcare services, is seeking candidates for its Hospital Administrator Program at Doctors Hospital of Laredo in Laredo, TX. Doctors Hospital of Laredo is a 183-bed facility with a Level III Trauma Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, serving over 40,000 emergency department visits annually with approximately 600 employees. The hospital offers a range of services including Cancer, Cardiology, Open Heart, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Women’s Health, and Dialysis, and has recently invested in expansions for its Intensive Care Unit and Outpatient surgical services. The program aims to develop junior executives who will manage hospital departments, implement strategic initiatives under the CEO and COO, and contribute to the hospital's mission of providing excellent, recommended healthcare services.

Requirements

Knowledge of the financial implications of decisions including budgeting and forecasting for a limited number of departments and/or projects.
Detail-oriented with the ability to focus on nuances of multiple hospital operations.
Effective communication skills with diverse groups, including physicians, managers, and employees.
Master’s degree required (MBA, MHA or related program).
3-7 years of hospital management experience at a mid-level.
Acute Care Hospital Experience required.
Must be open to Relocation.
Strong Project Management experience.
Strong critical thinking skillset.

Administrative Residency or Fellowship a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day operations for various hospital departments.
Be assigned projects to further the strategy of the Hospitals.
Implement the strategy of the CEO and COO.
Manage assigned departments efficiently and effectively to maximize the quality of services and the profits of the hospital.
Be enrolled in corporate Leadership Development classes to further development as a junior executive and prepare for a COO role within UHS.
