About The Position
AdvisaCare Hospice is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to volunteer their time to support hospice patients. This is a non-paid position where volunteers can make a difference in their community. No healthcare experience is necessary, and volunteers must be 18 years or older. Please note that hospice does not accept court-ordered service hours.
Requirements
- Willing to submit TB and Drug Tests
- Willing to be Fingerprinted
- Must be 18+ years old
Nice To Haves
- Already licensed dogs for Pet Therapy
Responsibilities
- Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
- Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
- Pet Therapy (already licensed dogs) to visit with patients
- Playing the guitar bedside of hospice patients
- Bereavement Volunteer Support Calls to family
- Assisting with grief groups
- Pre-Med Students who want to learn about gerontology patient care
- Grief Support (Remote)
