About The Position
AdvisaCare Hospice is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to volunteer their time to support hospice patients in the Saginaw county areas. No prior healthcare experience is necessary, and volunteers must be 18 years or older. This is a non-paid, volunteer opportunity where you can make a difference in your local community.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Willing to submit TB and Drug Tests
- Willing to be Fingerprinted
Nice To Haves
- Already licensed dogs for pet therapy
Responsibilities
- Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
- Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
- Pet therapy visits with licensed dogs to patients
- Playing guitar bedside of hospice patients
- Providing bereavement volunteer support through calls to family and assisting with grief groups
- Assisting pre-med students interested in gerontology patient care
- Providing grief support remotely
