About The Position
AdvisaCare Hospice is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to volunteer their time to support hospice patients in Macomb County. No healthcare experience is necessary, and volunteers must be 18 years or older. Opportunities are available in your local area.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Willing to submit TB and Drug Tests
- Willing to be Fingerprinted
Nice To Haves
- Licensed dogs for pet therapy
- Ability to play the guitar
- Pre-med students interested in gerontology patient care
Responsibilities
- Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
- Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
- Pet therapy visits with licensed dogs to patients
- Playing the guitar bedside of hospice patients
- Making bereavement support calls to families
- Assisting with grief groups
- Pre-med students assisting with gerontology patient care
- Providing remote grief support
