About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a Compassionate Veterinarian to provide gentle hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families. This role offers the opportunity to practice medicine at a slower pace, focusing on meaningful interactions without the pressure of a traditional clinic. Veterinarians will work independently on the road but will have the full support of a dedicated team. The position emphasizes practicing medicine that matters, with a schedule that fits the veterinarian's life, and a focus on the well-being of the care team.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS)
• Valid U.S. Driver's License
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 90 lbs with assistance
• License verification, background check, and driving record review before start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate end-of-life care for pets in their homes.
• Conduct gentle hospice and in-home euthanasia.
• Spend ample time with each patient and family, listening and explaining care options.
• Answer difficult questions with kindness and help families say goodbye with dignity.
• Practice independently while on the road, with team support available.
• Manage a schedule with a limited number of appointments per day.
