About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in the San Fernando, Simi Valley, and Burbank, California area. The work focuses on supporting families through end-of-life care in the comfort of their homes, giving veterinarians time to listen, answer difficult questions, and help families say goodbye with dignity and peace.

Veterinarians practice independently on the road, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, training, and experienced colleagues available for support. The role offers a choice of schedules, including five-day and four-day full-time options, as well as two- and three-day part-time options and self-managed schedules. Compensation is prorated for schedules based on the chosen arrangement. Weekend days are selected by the veterinarian, with four weekend days per month.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
• Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets in their homes.
