About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in the San Fernando, Simi Valley, and Burbank, California area. Care is delivered in clients’ homes, where veterinarians help families navigate end-of-life decisions and say goodbye with dignity and peace. The role offers a slower-paced practice with a few appointments each day and time to listen, explain, and support each family. Veterinarians practice independently while traveling to appointments, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available for support. Work schedules are self-managed, with options ranging from two to five days per week. Compensation varies by schedule: five-day full-time positions offer a $145,000 base salary, four-day full-time positions start at $120,000, and two- and three-day schedules have prorated compensation. Generous quarterly bonus opportunities are also available. The employer states that it does not use non-compete agreements.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.

Responsibilities
