About The Position

MultiCare is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Hospice team. The role uses specialized nursing knowledge and training to provide care through a multidisciplinary approach. Nurses organize and deliver patient care, participate in clinical decision-making, and contribute to an environment focused on quality care, patient experience, professional development, and open communication. The schedule is per diem, with a minimum of four shifts per month, including one consecutive Saturday–Sunday weekend each month.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or obtain it within five years of the initial hire date; an RN with 15 or more years of service may be considered in lieu of an education agreement.
Current Washington State Registered Nurse license or Multistate License endorsement.
Current BLS Certification.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, or ARNP).
National Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing.
One year of Home Health or Hospice experience.
At least one year of Medicare-certified Home Health or Hospice experience.

Responsibilities

Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
Use nursing education and experience to provide care through the nursing process and in accordance with policies, procedures, and protocols.
Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care and patient experience and reduce costs.
Foster a learning environment for patients, families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
Advocate for ethical, holistic care that promotes patients’ autonomy, dignity, and health across diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
