About The Position

James River Hospice is actively seeking a compassionate and highly committed Resource Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing team! You will provide compassionate care to General Inpatient Hospice (GIP) patients in hospital settings, while also supporting hospice patients in the community as needed. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patients and families receive exceptional, patient-centered end-of-life care.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Nurse with a current license to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• At least one year of hospice experience is required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable car available for use during work hours

Responsibilities

• Caring for GIP hospice patients
• Completing patient assessments and care planning
• Providing pain and symptom management
• Providing education and emotional support to patients and families
• Supporting the hospice team in the community with patient visits, admissions, and other clinical needs as needed
• Medication management
• Documentation
• Coordination of care
• Patient advocacy
