About The Position
Good Samaritan Hospice is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care in its inpatient hospice unit in Wexford, Pennsylvania. The nurse provides skilled nursing care in accordance with individualized care plans developed collaboratively with patients and/or families, the attending physician, and the hospice interdisciplinary team. The role supports patients’ and families’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during end-of-life care. This is a full-time position consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week. Daylight and overnight availability are required, along with participation in a weekend and holiday rotation.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Demonstrated strong clinical assessment and care skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Nice To Haves
- At least two years of direct patient care experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and physical examinations at the beginning of each shift and as needed.
- Provide direct personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, vital-sign monitoring, ambulation, positioning, transfers, hygiene, and skin care.
- Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
- Provide holistic care addressing patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Support families throughout the end-of-life journey, including at the time of death.
- Complete clinical documentation accurately and on time.
