About The Position

Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to provide care in its inpatient unit in Wexford, Pennsylvania. The full-time role consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, requires availability for both daylight and overnight shifts, and includes participation in weekend and holiday rotations. The nurse delivers skilled, patient-centered hospice care according to individualized care plans developed collaboratively with the patient and/or family, attending physician, and hospice interdisciplinary team. The role supports patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and provides compassionate support to families during end-of-life care.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Pennsylvania.
Demonstrated strong clinical assessment and care skills.
Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and physical exams at the beginning of each shift and as needed.
Provide direct personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, vital sign monitoring, ambulation, positioning, transfers, hygiene, and skin care.
Provide light housekeeping and meal preparation.
Address patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and support families throughout the end-of-life journey, including at the time of death.
Complete clinical documentation accurately and on time.
