About The Position
MercyOne Genesis is seeking an experienced Hospice & Palliative Care Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for our established hospice program, including the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House and Hospice Home & Community Services. In partnership with the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Services, and hospice leadership team, the Medical Director will oversee the quality and delivery of hospice and palliative care services while supporting program growth, quality initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Requirements
- MD or DO with Iowa medical license
- Board Certified
- Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary team skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care across physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural domains
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Nice To Haves
- Hospice & Palliative Medicine certification preferred
- Fellowship training and hospice/palliative care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership for our established hospice program.
- Oversee the quality and delivery of hospice and palliative care services.
- Support program growth, quality initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Shared weekday call coverage with APP support.
