About The Position

Enhabit Home Health & Hospice is seeking a full-time Hospice CNA to provide personal care to hospice patients. Duties include changing bedding and clothing, bathing patients, assisting with hygiene routines, and keeping wound dressings clean and dry. Hospice Nursing Aides may also instruct family members in basic health-care routines for caring for terminally ill relatives. The aide regularly consults with supervising registered nurses to keep hospice team members informed about patients’ progression and families’ needs.

Requirements

Meet at least one of the following: have a minimum of one year of full-time direct client-care experience in an institutional setting such as a hospital or nursing facility; have one year of direct client-care experience in a home health or hospice setting within the last five years; have satisfactorily completed a training and competency evaluation program complying with federal and state regulations; or be registered and listed in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in the state of employment.
Have a valid state driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Have reliable transportation.
Be able to recognize people’s needs, maintain good relationships with people, make meaningful observations, and communicate those observations to a supervisor.

Responsibilities

Assist hospice patients with personal care, including changing bedding and clothing and bathing.
Help patients with hygiene routines such as brushing teeth and washing hair.
Keep wound dressings clean and dry.
Instruct patients’ family members in basic health-care routines for caring for terminally ill relatives.
Consult regularly with supervising registered nurses and inform hospice team members about patients’ progression and families’ needs.
