About The Position

Hospice of Marion County, a part of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated CNA to work with us at our Hospice House in Ocala and Summerfield while providing exceptional care. Since 1983, Hospice of Marion County has been honored to serve families across Ocala and Marion County with compassionate, expert end-of-life care. Requirements

  • One to Three Years of training and/or experience required.
  • Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
  • Must be able to remain flexible and work at alternate facility where there is a business need for reassignment for one or more shifts at an alternative facility.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a long term care facility strongly preferred.
  • Valid Florida State Driver’s License This is only required if colleague chooses driving herself/himself as mode of transportation when reassigned to work at another facility. This is not a requirement if the colleague chooses an alternative means of transportation when reassigned to another facility based on business needs. Regardless of the mode chosen, both are at the colleague’s own expense, with the exception of mileage reimbursement eligibility when traveling between facilities while on company time.
  • When this occurs, the colleague is responsible for their own transportation to the alternate facility and at their expense. If mode of transportation is self-driving to that facility, the colleague must maintain an active, valid driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance, both of which will be placed in the colleague’s HR file.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patient in maintenance of good personal hygiene and promote a healthful, clean and safe environment.
  • Prepares and serves regular and special diets as directed. Assists with feeding as needed.
  • Shampoos hair and shaves (males) as requested by patient and family and/or as indicated on plan of care.
  • Gives partial or complete bath or shower, and offers/performs frequent oral hygiene.
  • Changes bed linen as indicated in Care Center practices and/or at patient/family request.
  • Performs other assignments including but not limited to housekeeping, laundry, kitchen clean-up, or other duties as needed.
