About The Position

Interim HealthCare is hiring a part-time Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant to provide one-on-one, home-based care to patients in Madison, Wisconsin, and surrounding areas. The role supports seniors and people living with illness, injury, or chronic disease, helping them maintain comfort and receive personalized care at home. The CNA works with hospice nurses and aides to follow each patient’s care plan and reports concerns that may require changes to care, medication, or medical equipment. The position offers a $20.00–$23.00 hourly wage, mileage reimbursement, one-to-one CNA-to-patient ratios, and a user-friendly electronic medical record system. The job shift is day, with no nights or weekends. Tuition discounts are available through Rasmussen University.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Active Nursing Assistant Certification in Wisconsin.
CPR certification.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and transportation.
Compassionate nature and good communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide care to seniors and people with an illness, injury, or chronic disease in their homes.
Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, hygiene, nail and skin care, eating, and nutritional intake.
Assist with ambulation, transfers, and range-of-motion exercises.
Check vital signs, measure intake and output, monitor blood glucose, and document changes.
Work with hospice nurses and aides to ensure the patient’s care plan is followed.
Observe patients and notify a supervisor of issues requiring a change in care, medication, or medical equipment.
