Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Hospice
About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Hospice provides compassionate, dignified support to hospice patients and their families facing end-of-life healthcare needs. The role supports patients’ physical, spiritual, and emotional requirements while helping maintain continuity of care. Hospice aides assist with personal hygiene and bathing and work closely with the nurse case manager to ensure patient needs are met according to the established care plan. This is a full-time, weekday day-shift position serving Springfield, Missouri, and surrounding areas. The position requires a CNA certification, a valid driver’s license, and access to a reliable vehicle with current auto insurance.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- CNA certification is required.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Have a reliable vehicle with current auto insurance.
- Pass a drug test.
- Pass a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Hospice or long-term care experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, according to the Hospice Aide Plan of Care.
- Document care provided according to agency policy.
- Report deviations from the Plan of Care to the Case Manager, or a designee if the Case Manager is unavailable.
- Use Durable Medical Equipment safely.
- Maintain records of services performed and the apparent condition of the patient.
