About The Position

Care Initiatives Hospice is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide to provide personalized care to patients with life-limiting illnesses in settings such as their homes, long-term care communities, assisted living residences, and hospitals. The role takes a holistic approach to patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and involves working collaboratively with family members, caregivers, and the healthcare team. Care is provided with compassion, dignity, and respect for patients and their loved ones.

Requirements

• Active CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and automobile liability insurance.
• Ability to travel between multiple locations within the region.
• Ability to obtain Hospice Nursing Assistant Certification through CHPN within 24 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, and/or Certified Nursing Assistant during the previous 24 months.
• Hospice or palliative care experience.

Responsibilities

• Support activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities that support health and daily routines.
• Follow infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
