About The Position

Hope Hospice, a non-profit community-led agency established in 1980, is seeking a per diem Hospice Aide to provide personal care services to hospice patients. The agency focuses on quality care rather than profit and offers a supportive work environment with competitive pay and generous benefits. This role requires availability for at least 6 shifts per month and serves patients in Contra Costa County, some areas of Alameda County, with occasional coverage in San Mateo County. Hope Hospice adheres to all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of an approved Home Health Aide training program.
  • Current certification to practice as a Home Health Aide in the State of California.
  • Current California Driver’s License and automobile insurance that meets State of California requirements, if driving a car.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patient in bathing, care of mouth, skin, and hair as needed.
  • Assist patient in and out of bed and with ambulation.
  • Turn patient in bed, position for comfort, and change bed linen.
  • Assist with prescribed exercises as directed.
