Per diem Hospice Aide
About The Position
Hope Hospice, a non-profit community-led agency established in 1980, is seeking a per diem Hospice Aide to join their team. The agency focuses on providing quality care to patients and families, rather than profit. This position offers competitive pay and a supportive work environment. The Hospice Aide will provide personal care services to hospice patients in Contra Costa County & some areas of Alameda County with occasional coverage to San Mateo County. The schedule is per diem, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a requirement to be available at least 6 shifts per month. Requirements
- MUST HAVE HHA LICENSE
- Completion of an approved Home Health Aide training program.
- Current certification to practice as a Home Health Aide in the State of California.
- Current California Driver’s License and automobile insurance that meets State of California requirements, if driving a car.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist patient in bathing, care of mouth, skin, and hair as needed.
- Assist patient in and out of bed and with ambulation.
- Turn patient in bed, position for comfort, and change bed linen.
- Assist with prescribed exercises as directed.
