Hospice Aide- CNA/HHA
About The Position
The hospice aide provides compassionate, hands-on care to help patients remain comfortable and maintain dignity throughout their end-of-life journey. Care includes personal care, mobility and activities of daily living, nutrition support, simple meal preparation and feeding, and light homemaking related to the patient’s care. The aide helps patients maintain independence and take part in meaningful activities, and observes and reports changes in a patient’s condition to the registered nurse. The aide cares for patients wherever they call home, including private residences and assisted living or skilled nursing facilities. The role involves travel within an assigned service area and providing care under the supervision of a registered nurse as part of an interdisciplinary hospice team. Requirements
- Approved hospice aide, home health aide, or nurse aide training and competency.
- Ability to travel as required by the role.
- Certification requirements vary by state: AL—CNA; CA—CHHA; CT—Homemaker-Home Health Aide; DC, DE, FL, GA, PA, TX, VA, WI—CNA, HHA, or HA; IL—HHA or NA; KS, MO—Home Health Aide; OH—State Tested Nurse Aide; NJ—Homemaker-Home Health Aide.

Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and activities of daily living.
- Support nutrition, including simple meal preparation and feeding.
