About The Position

Residential Home Health and Hospice is seeking an After Hours Registered Nurse (RN) for a Hospice position. This role involves providing end-of-life care to patients in their homes within the Mount Vernon, IL and Mount Carmel, IL area. The position offers a $10,000 first-year success bonus and involves working 7 days on (Monday through Sunday, 5 PM to 8 AM) followed by 7 days off. Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse, RN license in the state you work.
• Two years of RN experience and the clinical expertise to deliver quality patient care.
• Current driver’s license and ability to spend ~20% of your day driving to/from patient locations.
• Successful completion of a drug screen prior to employment is part of our background process, which includes medical and recreational marijuana.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a hospice setting, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
• Respond to after-hours and on-call patient needs by performing urgent assessments, managing symptoms and pain, and providing compassionate end-of-life support in real time.
• Support and guide patients and families during evenings, nights, weekends, and crisis situations, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and cared for throughout the hospice journey.
• Apply strong clinical judgment and critical thinking to coordinate care needs, respond to changing patient conditions, and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant EMR documentation.
• Work independently, but never alone.
• Travel to patient homes within assigned territory.
