The Admissions Nurse is a member of the dedicated clinical admission team responsible for the admission process of referred patients. This role serves as the first clinical impression for patients and families facing terminal illness, conveying comfort and assurance. A compassionate nature, knowledge in caring for the terminally ill, and excellent interpersonal skills are required to help patients live their final days with dignity and comfort. This role requires the ability to complete admissions Monday - Friday between 10 am - 7 pm.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Currently licensed as a registered nurse to practice in the state of Georgia
  • Minimum of 2 years as a registered nurse
  • Active patient contact within the past 3 years, to include hospice
  • Active CPR certificate
  • Must have current valid driver's license, auto liability insurance and your own reliable transportation
  • Must be able to provide evidence of annual TB test and other state required tests or examinations
  • Covid vaccinated

Responsibilities

  • Complete at least 1-2 admissions per day when needed
  • Collaborate with physicians and other professionals to form and initial plan of care
  • Complete documentation within 12-24 hours of admission visit
  • Provide support and comfort according to individual patient's needs
  • Work with caregivers and patients to assess goals of care
  • Maintain accurate records
