About The Position

This is a position within Saint Francis/Hyde Hospital Rehabilitation Services department. The Rehabilitative Services Aide (HA 2) reports to the therapists of a particular service or discipline (OT/PT/SLP) and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. At this level, the employee is responsible for the treatment of patients who require the direct supervision and daily guidance of an Occupational, Physical and/or Speech therapist. The Rehabilitative Services Aide works primarily with adult, geriatric, adolescent patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, although pediatric patients may be treated if the Rehab Aide has completed required competency training. The Rehabilitative aide actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, inservices, and staff development activities.

Requirements

  • Completion of required competency training for pediatric patients (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and indirect patient care services under the supervision of an Occupational, Physical, and/or Speech therapist.
  • Treats patients requiring direct supervision and daily guidance from a therapist.
  • Works primarily with adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients.
  • May treat pediatric patients after completing required competency training.
  • Actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, inservices, and staff development activities.
