The Hood Technician position is responsible for cleaning grease off the cooking exhaust systems of commercial kitchens. This role also involves supervisory functions relating to crews. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • 1 year hood cleaning experience strong preferred
  • Light mechanical ability, preferred.
  • Ability to work with hand/power tools
  • Demonstrate critical/safety forward thinking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work with all levels of employees.
  • Strong diligence and accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to comply with SFP’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning kitchen exhaust systems including fans
  • Working after hours once facilities are closed, in and outside
  • Interacting professionally with restaurant management and staff
  • Performing inspections, clean up, and some maintenance
  • Taking photos of work
  • Driving to and from job to shop
  • Filling out paperwork
  • Keeping truck and machine in working condition
  • Working on roofs and with filters, safely using ladders and chemicals
  • Arriving at pre-scheduled appointments on time
  • Other duties as assigned
