About The Position

Homemakers and Companions Needed - Come Work for a Great Company! If you are a compassionate individual who values making an impact on the lives of others, Preferred Care at Home of Champlain Valley may be right for you. We are looking for honest, reliable and compassionate people to join our team as a Homemaker/Companions. You'll provide essential support and companionship to our clients, enabling them to live comfortably and independently in their own homes. You will spend your days providing joy, conversation, friendship and a clean home to seniors and other adults in need of some extra help. This is a great opportunity for college students and anyone looking to supplement their income. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
• Strong communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• No formal training is required - We are glad to offer folks with the desire to learn and help elders a chance to break into the healthcare field.
• Relevant past jobs that would have offered you experience that is helpful to being a good caregiver include, but are not limited to, working in the restaurant or retail industry, teaching or nannying, housekeeping or maid services, ride share or taxi driving, social work and work with behaviorally challenged individuals.

Responsibilities

• Duties for homemakers could include vacuuming/sweep floors, dusting, wet mopping, care of bathroom, changing linens, clean kitchen, wash dishes, meal planning & preparation and empty trash, cleaning the refrigerator, laundry, and grocery shopping
• Duties for companions could include supervision/monitor of activities. Assist with phone calls/communication, read and socialization. Escort to recreational activity, accompany to appointments. (Medical, Business), and accompany on walks.
