About The Position

The Homelessness Prevention Program Manager builds and leads Safe Haven's homelessness prevention and diversion program. This role supervises the Prevention Coaches, designs and refines the prevention service model, coordinates with Safe Haven program leadership on service delivery, and represents Safe Haven's prevention work in community partnerships and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field required; Master's preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in social services, homelessness response, or family services, with at least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with homelessness prevention, diversion, or eviction prevention strongly preferred.
  • Training in or familiarity with Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Knowledge of Davidson County social services landscape and the Continuum of Care strongly preferred.
  • Strong supervisory, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with TANF, ESG, or similar grant compliance requirements helpful.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Prevention Coaches, ensuring the team has the skills, training, and support needed to be effective in a strengths-based, family-centered coaching model.
  • Design, refine, and document the prevention service model, including referral pathways, coaching framework, flexible assistance approval workflows, and outcome measurement.
  • Provide bi-weekly supervision with Prevention Coaches; lead a weekly prevention team meeting to review active families and coordinate care.
  • Coordinate closely with the Community Services Hub Manager to ensure continuity of care and connection to services.
  • Coordinate with the housing team on prevention-related housing supports including landlord mediation, lease restoration, and relocation when necessary.
  • Approve flexible assistance disbursements in alignment with grant eligibility and program need.
  • Track and report on prevention outcomes in partnership with the Data & Evaluation Manager.
  • Represent Safe Haven's prevention work in community settings, including The Family Collective, Continuum of Care, and other community meetings.
  • Maintain working relationships with prevention-relevant community partners including Legal Aid Society, MDHA, NCRC, faith-based partners, schools, and healthcare providers.
  • Implement a trauma-informed framework within the prevention program.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development of Prevention Coaches.
  • Maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive client information.
  • Adhere to agency policy, procedures, and the professional code of ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
