The Home Visitor collaborates with families regarding their child's growth and development through regular communication and weekly home visits. The Home Visitor works with parents during their child's prenatal stage of development, or who have infant/toddlers, to plan and promote children's growth in the areas of social-emotional, physical, cognitive and language development. This position ensures that growth is supported in an age-appropriate manner during socializations and other activities. This team offers a lot of growth opportunities and professional development through hands-on experience. We have many employees who have started their career as a Home Visitor that have decided to move into management positions. In this role you will be supporting a free preschool program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in early childhood programs
  • Home Visitor 1: Infant Toddler Child Development Associate Credential/Infant Toddler Certificate
  • Home Visitor 2: Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Home Visitor 3: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, with a minimum of 18 course credit hours in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.
  • Driver license, auto insurance and satisfactory drive record for the past 3 years are required.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • Food Handlers Card or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Successful registration with the Central Background Registry of the Child Care Division.
  • Candidate must pass pre-employment physical examination, renewable every two years.
  • Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings.
  • Head Start ChildPlus experience desirable.
  • Intermediate computer proficiencies with MS Office, Teams, Outlook, Zoom and databases.
  • Ability to follow through on instructions, both written and oral, meet deadlines, and perform basic math as needed.
  • Utilizes effective communication and presentation skills with individuals or groups.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with families regarding their child's growth and development through regular communication and weekly home visits.
  • Works with parents during their child's prenatal stage of development, or who have infant/toddlers, to plan and promote children's growth in the areas of social-emotional, physical, cognitive and language development.
  • Ensures that growth is supported in an age-appropriate manner during socializations and other activities.
  • Effectively uses database systems for collecting and tracking child and family data.
  • Completes Child Outcomes data.
  • Submits weekly lesson plans that support each child's identified goals.
