About The Position

This position supports the greater Memphis, TN area. We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Energy Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll lead the installation of energy-efficiency upgrades that help homeowners reduce energy usage and lower utility costs. You’ll work across a designated territory using a company-provided vehicle, supporting utility and weatherization programs while delivering high-quality service to customers.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in residential construction, field service, in-home customer service, or installation work
  • Basic plumbing and/or electrical experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a team
  • Comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
  • Frequently crawl, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and reach—often in tight spaces such as crawl spaces or under mobile homes
  • Regular use of hand and power tools with repetitive motion
  • Ability to safely use ladders (up to three stories)
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
  • Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test
  • Must consent to the company obtaining a motor vehicle report evidencing a satisfactory driving record
  • Must maintain a clean driving record as an ongoing requirement for continued employment
  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located without the need for employer sponsorship or support.

Nice To Haves

  • BPI certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within 3–6 months (company-sponsored)

Responsibilities

  • Install a variety of energy-saving measures, including attic insulation (batts and blown), air sealing (caulking), LED lighting, showerheads, baseboards, thermostats, and electric water heaters
  • Perform minor repairs on windows, doors, and other household components
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from work vehicles
  • Ensure all installations meet program standards and quality guidelines
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues in accordance with utility specifications
  • Complete required documentation, reporting, and status updates daily
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
  • Support job site setup and breakdown at customer homes
  • Conduct combustion appliance testing to verify safe and proper operation
