About The Position

Home Support Workers are an integral part of a health care team, and in this role, you will encourage, support, and promote independence for patients in home and community care settings by assisting with activities of daily living under the supervision of our Personal Support Manager. We are looking for Home Support Workers (HSWs) to help us bring patient and family-centered care to in patients in the Apsley area. This course consists of virtual and in-person training. The following is required for attendance in the program: Internet access, A laptop or device that has a webcam and is compatible with Microsoft Teams (CarePartners equipment will be available to attend training upon request).

Requirements

  • A caring nature and willingness to help others through excellent customer service
  • A desire to support your community and enhance someone’s quality of life
  • Ability to attend the full time training program
  • A valid driver’s license (G or G2 Classification), access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance
  • Current vulnerable sector check screening, and a clear background check

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with activities of daily living under the supervision of our Personal Support Manager.
  • Bathing, showering, personal hygiene
  • Dressing
  • Meal preparation
  • Transferring/repositioning
  • Light housekeeping
  • Bowel/bladder care
  • Socializing and companionship
