About The Position

The Home Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck delivery and prioritizes processing merchandise onto the sales floor. The role trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, coaches as needed, and works with management to address training needs. It also helps ensure tasks are completed according to the store plan, merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, and back stock is organized and rotated for replenishment. The position maintains merchandising, signage, backroom cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards; supports recycling and applicable hazardous-waste programs; and promotes safety, shrink reduction, credit, and loyalty programs. The Coordinator communicates priorities and progress to management and Associates, provides and accepts feedback, and ensures adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
