About The Position

Sentara Health is seeking a Home Health Aide to provide basic and routine patient care in hospice services. Care includes personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, meal preparation and feeding, intake and output, ambulation, and assisting patients with transfers to and from beds, toilets, and other areas of the home. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week day-shift position located at Sentara Hospice Services in Suffolk, Virginia.

Requirements

• CNA certification or an unexpired certification from an accredited Nurse Aide program; one is required.
• BLS certification, required within 90 days of hire.
• Previous customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene and grooming assistance.
• Assist patients with toileting.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding.
• Monitor and record intake and output.
• Assist patients with ambulation.
• Assist patients with transfers to and from beds, toilets, and other areas of the home.
