About The Position

Sentara Health is seeking a Home Health Aide to provide basic and routine patient care in the home. Duties include personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, meal preparation and feeding, intake/output, ambulation, and assisting patients with transfers to and from the bed, toilet, and other areas of the home. The position is based at Sentara Hospice Services in Suffolk, Virginia, and is full-time, 40 hours per week, on the day shift.

Requirements

• CNA certification or an unexpired certification from an accredited Nurse Aide program.
• BLS certification, required within 90 days of hire.
• Previous customer service experience.

Nice To Haves

• Prior hospice experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene and grooming assistance.
• Assist patients with toileting, meal preparation, and feeding.
• Monitor and record patient intake and output.
• Assist patients with ambulation and transfers to and from the bed, toilet, and other areas of the home.
