About The Position

Visiting Angels Longview is seeking compassionate Home Health Aides to support senior adults and others in need throughout Longview and the surrounding East Texas communities. The role provides companionship and assistance with daily living, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, shopping, and transportation. Caregivers may also assist with medication and routine exercises, and must report unusual incidents and respond responsibly to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care are available. The posting offers full-time, part-time, PRN, short, and 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver orientation.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Background in home care or elderly care.
History of community involvement.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Provide transportation to clients.
