About The Position

Centria Healthcare is hiring compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) or Home Health Aides (HHAs) to provide in-home support. This role involves working one-on-one with clients in a private home setting to assist with their unique care needs. The specific client is a 40-year-old non-verbal man who is paralyzed and requires comprehensive assistance with his daily routine, including ADLs, transfers via ceiling lift, G-tube care, and nebulizer assistance. The caregiver will also provide companionship and observe for changes in condition. A nurse will be on shift for this case. Additional opportunities are available in surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • CNA, HHA, or equivalent experience in home care preferred.
  • Experience working with fall-risk and mobility-impaired clients strongly desired.
  • Must be comfortable assisting with personal care tasks.
  • Reliable, patient, and attentive to individual needs.
  • Comfortable working in a private home setting.
  • Ability to work independently and follow a care plan.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Comfortable using tablets/computers for documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow all care protocols.
  • Ability to address minor medical concerns as they arise.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Clear Background Check.
  • Negative TB Test Results.
  • Proof of Auto Insurance (with your name listed on the policy).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with safe transfer techniques is essential.
  • Experience working with fall-risk and mobility-impaired clients strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, hygiene, and positioning.
  • Safely assist with transfers via ceiling lift. Experience with safe transfer techniques is essential.
  • Provide competent and professional care related to his G-Tube (gastrostomy tube).
  • Provide assistance with cough machine 3 times per day.
  • Offer supportive companionship and diligently observe for any changes in condition throughout the night.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers to prevent falls.
  • Provide basic personal care, including hygiene, toileting, and dressing.
  • Monitor and assist with oxygen therapy as needed.
  • Prepare light snacks or drinks upon request.
  • Offer companionship and emotional reassurance throughout the shift.
  • Assist in positioning and turning to prevent discomfort.
  • Document and report changes in client condition promptly.
  • Respond to emergencies following proper procedures.
  • Perform duties as outlined in the patient’s plan of care.
  • Monitor client’s physical and mental condition, intake/output, and exercise.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy care environment.
  • Follow professional standards, care policies, and local/state/federal requirements.
