Home Health Aide Trainee- Paid Training Begins November 30th
About The Position
HCR offers a three-week, paid Home Health Aide certification course from November 30 through December 22. The New York State Department of Health-approved course prepares participants to obtain a recognized HHA certificate and work for HCR providing home care to patients in Monroe, Genesee, and Orleans Counties. Work is readily available in those counties. After certification, Home Health Aides provide personal care and supportive light housekeeping to individuals in their homes. They deliver health-related services under an authorized plan of care and report changes in a client's condition to a supervising professional. The position requires maintaining patient safety and HIPAA privacy, and meeting the stated physical demands in clients' homes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Successfully complete HCR's Reading and Math Test.
- Reliable transportation.
- Valid driver's license.
- After offer acceptance, provide a copy of immunization records/MMRs.
- After offer acceptance, submit to a CHRC background check, fingerprinting, drug test, physical exam, and Tuberculin Testing.
- Visually recognize objects within 20 feet and have the ability to speak and hear.
- Walk and stand frequently, 80%–100% of the time.
- Lift frequently and be able to lift or move 50 pounds unassisted.
- May need to push, pull, or transfer 50 pounds of weight.
- Routinely bend, stoop, reach, pull, and push unsupported.
- Be able to climb two flights of stairs.
Responsibilities
- Provide health-related services outlined in a physician-authorized plan of care established by a registered nurse or licensed therapist, in accordance with the NYS Department of Health Aide Matrix.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, housekeeping, and other related supportive tasks in their homes.
- Immediately report changes in a client's condition to the supervising professional.
- Ensure the safety of the patient, the patient's family, and the employee.
- Maintain HIPAA privacy.
