About The Position

HCR offers a three-week paid Home Health Aide certification course running November 30 through December 22. The New York State Department of Health-approved course enables participants to earn a recognized HHA Certificate and work for HCR serving home care patients. Work is readily available in Monroe, Genesee, and Orleans Counties. After certification, Home Health Aides provide personal care and supportive light housekeeping to individuals in the community, in their homes. They deliver health-related services according to a physician-authorized plan of care established by a registered nurse or licensed therapist, and within the aide matrix established by the New York State Department of Health.

Requirements

Successful completion of HCR’s reading and math test.
Reliable transportation.
Driver’s license.
After offer acceptance, provide a copy of immunization records/MMRs.
After offer acceptance, submit to a CHRC background check, fingerprinting, drug test, physical examination, and Tuberculin testing.
Ability to visually recognize objects within 20 feet, speak, and hear.
Frequent walking and standing, 80%–100% of the time.
Frequent lifting; ability to lift or move 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to push, pull, or transfer up to 50 pounds.
Ability to routinely bend, stoop, reach, pull, and push unsupported.
Ability to climb two flights of stairs.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide health-related services in accordance with the physician-authorized plan of care, as established by a registered nurse or licensed therapist and within the NYS Department of Health aide matrix.
Assist patients in their homes with personal hygiene, housekeeping, and other related supportive tasks.
Immediately report changes in a client’s condition to the supervising professional.
Ensure the safety of the patient, the patient’s family, and the employee.
Maintain HIPAA.
