About The Position

Advisacare is hiring in-home caregivers to provide basic care in patients’ homes. The role may include transportation to and from physician appointments, light housekeeping, and meal preparation. Travel within Oakland and Macomb counties is required.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work responsibly both in a team and independently.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to travel within the service area.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and clear a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide health care services in patients’ residences.
• Perform domestic and household tasks.
• Transport and accompany patients to doctors’ offices or hospitals.
• Administer simple prescribed medications.
• Assist clients with personal care activities.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, temperature, respiration, and other indicators, and report on their condition.
• Maintain patients’ care records and document services provided.
• Assist patients with mobility and physical therapies or exercises.
• Instruct and counsel patients and families on diet and exercise.
• Provide companionship.
• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping as needed.
• Travel within Oakland and Macomb counties.
