About The Position

The primary responsibilities of the Home Equity Loan Processor II are to assist members with their financial needs regarding home equity loans in an efficient and professional manner, and process loan files timely and accurately, while providing excellent service. The Home Equity Processor II will also provide mentorship and provide support to HE Processor I.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Home Equity Loan Processor.
  • Knowledge of home equity products, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to learn new concepts at fast pace, and to apply these new concepts.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work towards individual goals and department goals.
  • Good clerical skills with particular attention to detail.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, organization, and planning skills.
  • Ability to operate loan processing system(s), computer, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as needed.
  • Skilled in all MS Office products.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on various projects in a given time frame.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • All employees must be able to communicate face to face or through technology with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • All positions that have lending responsibilities must comply with all requirements under the SAFE ACT, as well as the Credit Union’s policies and procedures related to the SAFE ACT.
  • This includes an obligation on the employee’s part to ensure that NMLA registration pertaining to the SAFE ACT is kept current.
  • The employee must notify the Credit Union within 30 days of any changes that need to be reflected on the NMLS registry.

  • Knowledge of Loans PQ, DNA are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Interview member, review and analyze loan application and supporting documentation provided.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail to ensure all responsibilities related to the loan process are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Accurately input loan information into loan origination system.
  • When applicable, provide restructured loan solutions for member’s whose loan requests do not meet guidelines.
  • Process and review all order outs to include, but not limited to, appraisals, flood and title reports.
  • Effectively communicate with all internal staff, to include but not limited to, underwriting, closing, loan servicing, private banking etc.
  • Advises members of loan decisions.
  • Maintain clear, concise and detailed notes in the loan origination system throughout the loan process.
  • Maintain a report of all assigned loans and review daily to ensure timely progression
  • Provide excellent service to credit union members in accordance with the organization’s expectation.
  • Maintain relevant licensing and updates with NMLS Safe Act.
  • Adhere to TRID, REG Z, NCUA and all other applicable regulations applicable to home equity loans.
  • Adhere to organization’s loan processing guidelines.
  • Provide updates to management regarding escalated files and high touch files.
  • Maintain knowledge of products, policies, procedures and attend training to continue to enhance knowledge.
  • Properly prepare all necessary documents for pre-quality check and closing team.
  • Confirm and communicate closing date with closing team and member.
  • Provide mentorship and support to HE Loan Processor I.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding process improvements and trends.
