About The Position

Treehouse is seeking a Home Energy Sales Consultant to manage the entire sales process for residential battery storage, vehicle-to-home (V2H), and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) solutions. The ideal candidate is results-oriented and thrives in complex, consultative sales environments. This role involves acting as a trusted advisor to homeowners, guiding them through significant financial decisions (over $20,000) by clearly articulating the financial benefits of backup power and vehicle energy integration, based on utility bills, rate structures, and energy data. While there is a strong preference for candidates based in Chicago, the position is open nationally and offers substantial earning potential beyond quota for high-performing individuals.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of consultative sales experience
  • Strong financial conversation skills, including fluency in ROI, payback periods, and financing

Nice To Haves

  • A background in clean energy, solar, or home services is a strong plus
  • Prior professional experience in an early-stage startup environment
  • Working knowledge of residential battery storage products and bidirectional charging systems including V2H and V2G technology
  • Familiarity with utility rate structures, NEM dynamics, or solar and storage systems and an ability to translate this information into a persuasive pitch that moves a customer forward
  • Patient, credible, and persuasive communicator who earns the trust of homeowners making a $20K+ decision
  • Organized, self-directed, and accountable to a number, you run your pipeline

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth discovery calls to uncover homeowners' energy goals, utility rate structures, backup power priorities, and usage habits
  • Analyze customer utility bills to build a compelling, numbers-backed savings case across time-of-use (TOU) arbitrage, self-consumption, and rate plan dynamics
  • Scope and present battery storage and V2H proposals tailored to each customer's home, usage profile, and utility environment
  • Confidently guide customers through financing options and multi-stakeholder household decisions
  • Maintain disciplined CRM pipeline hygiene by accurately progressing stages
  • Partner closely with operations and scoping teams to ensure every proposal is accurate, feasible, and set up for a clean handoff
  • Hit and exceed quarterly revenue and close rate targets in a metrics-driven, high-accountability environment
