About The Position

Andersen Corporation is hiring a Class A delivery driver based in Totowa, New Jersey. The driver transports dedicated Andersen freight—windows and doors—to dealers, distribution centers, and construction sites in Long Island, the Bronx, Queens, and New York City's five boroughs. The role includes manually unloading products and providing safe, compliant, professional service to customers. Drivers represent Andersen and may answer questions about packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content or direct customers to the appropriate Andersen contact.

Requirements

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
Recent pup trailer experience.
Acceptable accident and moving-violation Motor Vehicle Record.
Two years of previous tractor-trailer driving experience, including winter driving experience.
Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical calculations, handle receipts, read maps and road signs, and maintain logs.
Good oral communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and directions delivered through an onboard computer system and by phone.
Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspection, and maintenance.
Meet or exceed U.S. Department of Transportation medical standards.
Satisfactorily pass a drug test.
Ability to sit and remain alert while driving for extended periods and to shift a manual transmission and operate foot pedals.
Ability to frequently squat or crouch, push or pull windows and doors weighing up to 100 pounds on a dolly or cart, carry windows and doors weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally, and reach above shoulder level, at waist level, and below waist level.
Ability to hook and unhook commercial vehicle combinations; lower and raise landing gear; operate the fifth-wheel lever; lock and release pintle hooks; attach and release safety chains; open and close cargo doors; climb into and off vehicles; fuel vehicles; and check engine oil and coolant levels.

Responsibilities

Safely assist with loading and unloading products at customer locations and handling returned products, including windows and doors.
Frequently lift, pull, push, and carry windows and doors of varying weights.
Drive a truck to destinations in accordance with federal regulations, navigating traffic, inclement weather, and tight loading docks.
Maintain records required by state and federal regulations, including driver logs, fuel purchases, and mileage records.
Perform duties according to company policies and procedures and comply with federal, state, and local commercial vehicle safety regulations.
Represent Andersen Corporation professionally.
Answer customer questions about packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content, or direct customers to the appropriate Andersen contact.
