About The Position

Andersen Corporation is hiring a home-daily delivery driver based in Totowa, New Jersey. The driver delivers dedicated Andersen windows and doors to dealers, distribution centers, and construction job sites in Long Island, the Bronx, Queens, and the five boroughs. The role involves safely driving commercial vehicles, manually unloading and handling products, and representing Andersen professionally while providing customer service. The driver must follow company procedures and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and maintain required driving and vehicle records. The position pays $38.39–$39.47 per hour and is overtime eligible.

Requirements

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
Recent pup trailer experience.
Acceptable motor vehicle record, including accident and moving violation history.
At least 2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience, including winter driving experience.
Ability to read, write, perform simple mathematical calculations, handle receipts, read maps and road signs, and maintain logs.
Good oral communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and directions received through an on-board computer system and by phone.
Working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspection, and maintenance.
Meet or exceed U.S. Department of Transportation medical standards.
Satisfactorily pass a drug test.
Ability to remain alert while sitting and driving for extended periods.
Ability to shift a manual transmission and operate foot pedals.
Ability to squat or crouch frequently to handle and secure windows and doors.
Ability to frequently push or pull windows and doors weighing up to 100 pounds on a dolly or cart.
Ability to frequently carry windows and doors weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally carry items weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to frequently reach above shoulder level, at waist level, and below waist level to maneuver cargo and operate truck controls.
Ability to hook and unhook commercial vehicle combinations, operate landing gear and fifth-wheel levers, lock and release pintle hooks, attach and release safety chains, open and close cargo doors, climb into and off vehicles, fuel vehicles, and check engine oil and coolant levels.

Responsibilities

Safely assist with loading and unloading windows and doors at customer locations and handling returned products.
Frequently lift, pull, push, and carry windows and doors of varying weights.
Drive trucks to destinations in accordance with federal regulations, handling traffic, inclement weather, and tight loading areas safely.
Maintain driver logs, fuel purchase records, mileage records, and other records required by law.
Perform duties according to company policies and procedures and comply with federal, state, and local commercial vehicle regulations.
Represent Andersen Corporation professionally.
Answer customer questions about packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content, or refer customers to the appropriate Andersen contact.
