About The Position

The Retail Home Consultant creates a world-class home-buying experience by helping customers identify a floor plan, select options, and coordinate the construction process. The role involves connecting with prospective buyers, demonstrating homes and their features, and guiding customers through the home-buying process. Compensation includes a $50,000 base salary plus a commission plan, with stated career and earning potential.

Requirements

• Highly tech-savvy, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate CRM systems, software applications, and digital communication tools.
• At least six months of relationship-driven business-to-consumer sales experience preferred.
• General understanding of the retail environment.
• Ability to obtain appropriate manufactured-home sales licensing.
• Ability to learn and comply with legal requirements applicable to manufactured-home sales.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work the required schedule, including Saturdays.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Ability to walk the lot and show homes throughout all seasons.
• Ability to move and lift furniture, promotional items, and similar items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Subject to criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Protect the Clayton brand and assets by maintaining integrity throughout the sales process.
• Develop expertise in mortgage finance concepts, products, sales skills, sales presentations, and the local market.
• Maintain customer files and provide timely follow-up with prospective buyers using the company CRM system.
• Assist the manager with selecting inventory, decorating model homes, and maintaining home appearance.
• Develop and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan to increase home-center traffic.
• Present display homes to prospective buyers and demonstrate features and benefits.
• Schedule home-center visits using the prospect database and by converting advertising calls and web leads into appointments.
• Participate in sales meetings, training opportunities, and other company-sponsored functions.
• Work collaboratively with the team and assist with miscellaneous duties as required.
