About The Position

Clayton is seeking a Retail Home Consultant to create a world-class home-buying experience. The consultant assists customers in identifying a floor plan, selecting options, and coordinating the construction process. The role involves guiding prospective buyers through the home-buying process while developing product, finance, sales, and local-market expertise. Compensation includes a $50,000 base salary plus a commission plan, with unlimited career and earning potential.

Requirements

• At least six months of relationship-driven business-to-consumer sales experience preferred.
• General understanding of the retail environment.
• Ability to obtain appropriate manufactured-home sales licensing.
• Ability to learn and comply with legal requirements applicable to manufactured-home sales.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Ability to walk the lot and show homes throughout all seasons.
• Ability to move and lift items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Subject to criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Protect Clayton’s brand and assets by maintaining integrity throughout the sales process.
• Develop expertise in mortgage finance concepts, products, sales, presentation skills, and the local market.
• Maintain customer files and promptly follow up with prospective buyers using the company CRM system.
• Assist the manager with inventory selection, model-home decoration, and maintaining home appearance.
• Develop and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan to increase home-center traffic.
• Present display homes and demonstrate features and benefits to prospective buyers.
• Schedule home-center visits by using the prospect database and converting advertising calls and web leads into appointments.
• Participate in sales meetings, training opportunities, and other company-sponsored functions.
• Work collaboratively with the team and assist with miscellaneous duties as needed.
• Work the required schedule, including Saturdays.
• Walk the lot and show homes throughout all seasons.
• Move and lift furniture and promotional items weighing up to 75 pounds.
